What Can You Expect at the 2017 Texas International Food & Wine Roundup?

The Texas International Food & Wine Roundup brings together up and coming restaurants stars of Austin’s culinary scene paired with hundreds of award-winning Texas and International wines. Located in the heart of downtown Austin, at Ironwood Hall on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 starting at 6pm, Festival programming will include a dynamic line-up local winemakers, chefs and musical artists.

TXIWC was founded by Bonnie Villacampa, an international wine judge and co-founder of Baron de Villacampa, a wine brand from the Rioja region in Spain. Ms. Villacampa has judged at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (FLIWC) in New York for more than 10 years.

Inspired by the strong showing of Texas wines and the charitable work of the FLIWC, Ms. Villacampa aspired to bring an international wine competition to the Texas Hill Country, and in 2016, the Texas International Wine Competition was born. The mission of the TXIWC is to bring attention to Texas as a prominent viticulture and wine-making region, and raise awareness and funds charity.

The Texas International Wine Competition is a 501(c)3 non-profit fundraising organization.  This year, they are raising funds for The Whole Planet Foundation, which is working to alleviate poverty around the world through micro-lending.  They have provided more than $1m in micro loans in the Austin area alone and more than $65 million in 69 countries with a 97% payback rate – and all the funds stay in the system growing their global impact.
